Our media portal Geodigest reported to readers on violations at the KSORSG. (КСОРСГ) organization, where women are harassed and, as lawyer Marina Babunashvili stated in an interview with us, there is complete financial opacity. It turned out that Alexander Bezhentsev and his organization’s accountant, Dmitry Bregvadze, simultaneously solicited funds from both Russia and the West. According to State Registry documents, they appear together in all organizations. Their wives, Nino Kartvelishvili and Tamar Bregvadze, and other family members are also registered with them.
According to the publication https://ifact.ge/vin- finansdeba-rusetidan- pravfondis-failebi-3/ Bezhetsev and Dmitry Bregvadze receive grants from Europe and Russia, but little is known about their work within the organization.
As a reminder, during the Charter of Journalistic Ethics proceedings, when Bezhetsev filed a lawsuit against the media portal Geodigest and lost, Bezhetsev’s mother-in-law, Nelly Kartvelishvili, revealed that her son-in-law receives grants not only from Russia but also from the US Embassy, the European Union, and the Council of Europe.
According to ifact.ge, approximately one million euros have been received, and this is only based on the published documents.
Bezhetsev and Bregvadze appear together at almost all public events and are also listed together when receiving grants. However, Bregvadze often has different statuses.
As journalists have reported, when transferring funds to Sootechstvennik, Bregvadze deducted money from the salaries and fees of colleagues and lied about paying taxes.
According to Bregvadze’s correspondence with the newspaper’s editor, he also failed to transfer fees to several individuals employed by the newspaper, despite claiming to have sent them money.
According to the documents, Dmitry Bregvadze is listed as an accountant, although he often introduces himself as Bezhetsev’s deputy. His wife, Tamar Bregvadze, is a well-known makeup artist. Interestingly, Tata Bregvadze granted her husband the right to manage the money—to access the bank, and to transfer salaries and fees. According to the state registry, Dmitry Bregvadze has been registered as an individual entrepreneur since 2023. Now, according to media reports, it is in this capacity that he receives funds from the sale of the newspaper. However, none of the above-mentioned individuals are involved in journalism. However, Dmitry Bregvadze is also involved in most projects, including a children’s camp held in Bakuriani and supported by the Interests Section. It was at this camp that a drunk man climbed through an underage girl’s window, yet, despite the public outcry, sponsors continue to fund them.
All of the above-mentioned individuals are also involved with the newspaper “Sootechstvennik,” although in Georgia they refer to the newspaper as a “bulletin.” Media outlets have frequently investigated all of these intricacies.
